When you’re pregnant, your life doesn’t stop, and neither should your exercise routine. You’ll find a plethora of good reasons to work out in the second trimester once you get through the exhaustion of the first. Nike launches its first maternity sportswear collection

You can’t go wrong with the money you’re spending on yourself and your clothing. If you’re pregnant, you should do 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week, according to the HHS. Exercise is a no-brainer for pregnant women because of the numerous advantages it provides, such as a lower risk of gestational diabetes, c-sections, and preeclampsia, as well as better physical and mental health. Of course, you want to feel good and look nice at the same time (hey, we hear you). There’s nothing to worry about! Fitness gurus and mothers alike have shared their favorite maternity workout gear with us.

Do You Really Need Maternity Workout Clothes?

The majority of expectant mothers spend a significant portion of their pregnancy budgeting for baby’s needs, whether it’s for nursery furniture or baby clothes and diapers. When it comes to pregnant workout gear, you may not want to fork over the extra money. Investing in maternity sportswear isn’t necessary in the first trimester, but you can get away with stretching out tees and rolling waist bands under your belly. Such measures can be extremely unpleasant at the 20-week mark when the belly begins to show.

In addition, many new moms are shocked to learn that it’s not just for a few months of use. As a Denver mom who took spin classes twice a week while pregnant, Olivia Koszuta wishes she had spent more money on her maternity gym gear. At three months pregnant, I was still wearing pregnancy leggings from Old Navy. For a while, pants don’t fit right. My belly probably didn’t go down for another three months.”

There is no one-size-fits-all pregnancy. Maternity sportswear should be chosen based on the unique needs and lifestyle of the expectant mother, taking into consideration the physical changes she’s undergoing. Always go for maternal fitness wear meant to alleviate discomfort during sweat sessions—whether that means maternity sports bras and swim gear with increased bust support, stretchier shirts and tanks for developing tummies, or maternity yoga trousers with over-the-belly waists.

Melanie Darnell, a Los Angeles maternity fitness trainer and mom of three who created Fitmomma Bootcamp, believes the finest maternity workout gear are “made to support and flatter an expectant mom’s bump.” This will provide you the additional length and support you require. As an added bonus, going to the gym in your pregnant workout gear might give you the boost in self-assurance you need” She adds, “It was really lovely to hear the girls in spin class compliment me on how cute I looked in my workout clothes.”

To your relief, you won’t have to spend a fortune on maternity fitness gear; a few crucial pieces will suffice. Here’s a list of places to shop for fitness apparel, as well as a couple of my favorite items to get your hands on.

Maternity Sports Bras

Pregnant women often notice a dramatic increase in their bust size. One of the most common symptoms of wearing a bra that is too small is a red ring around the lower breasts, and this is usually the first sign that something is wrong. A well-fitting pregnancy sports bra (or two!) is a must-have for your maternity workout wardrobe because of this alteration in your figure.

Breasts might begin to grow as early as six weeks during pregnancy. Throughout pregnancy, women’s breasts can develop up to two cup sizes. Even if you’re naturally endowed, working out (and going about your regular business) without a maternity sports bra can rapidly become unbearable if you’re not prepared. The same holds true if the clothes is too loose; it won’t be able to provide the necessary support as your baby grows.”

How many weeks should I take for maternity leave?

It all comes down to the business where you work. According to Monster.com, some employers offer a certain amount of paid maternity leave, while others may be more flexible and enable their employees to take unpaid time off if they so desire.

Typically, new mothers can expect six weeks of unpaid or partially compensated leave following childbirth.

The choice to use all 12 weeks of FMLA leave to return from maternity leave earlier than intended is yours if your employer does not provide paid parental leave.

To ensure that they have enough sick days to cover three months of leave, many moms plan their pregnancies meticulously and begin taking sick days even before they get pregnant.

A 12-week maternity leave is the standard recommendation. For the four months preceding the projected due date, the unpaid statutory leave cannot exceed a woman’s total wages or a week’s worth of her average weekly wage, whichever is less.

Fathers are entitled to two weeks of paternity (or parental) leave immediately upon the birth of their child, as well as an additional ten days of paternity/parental allowance each year. This should be highlighted.

When a mother has returned from maternity/paternity (or shared parental) leave, this can only be taken by her, provided there is no entitlement because it would have taken her beyond the end of her leave period.

These rights can be exercised by both parents at any time throughout the next twelve/six months in such cases.

What trimester do your breasts grow the most?

When you’re pregnant, your breasts go through various changes in the first three months. For women with enormous breasts, they may feel heavier and fuller, which may be a cause for concern. This is normal, but if it goes on for any length of time or causes you any discomfort, you should see your doctor.

Your second trimester will bring many additional changes, including possible nipple growth! Stretch marks will begin to appear at this stage, so be sure to moisturize your skin immediately!

During your third trimester, your body undergoes even more transformations, including increased stretching of your skin and fat deposits.

Because your body will soon return to normal, you may relax and take care of yourself during these final months without worrying about what others think.
