The Chairman of the National Pacific Radio Trust (NPRT) and Trustees invites the Pacific community to attend their Annual General fono (meeting).
The National Pacific Radio Trust (NPRT) is responsible for maintaining the national Pacific Radio Network that operates Radio 531pi, Niu FM, our nine Pacific language programmes, and its online platforms. It exists to empower, encourage and nurture Pacific cultural identity and economic prosperity in New Zealand and to celebrate the Pacific spirit.
The role of the government appointed board is to provide governance and oversight to ensure this mission is met.
NPRT Chair Tiumalu Peter Fa’afiu says, it has been a busy time for the network and it is important for the Trust to continue to engage with Pacific communities across the country around what PMN has achieved over the last 12 months and looking ahead.
“We are delighted to share with you the progress and important milestones of our radio network over the 2016/17 financial year. Most importantly, the new Board would like to share some early thinking in regards to the future direction of the Network.”
Adding that as they operate in a highly competitive environment, "like any other organisation we must adapt our content, programming, partnerships, and information platforms to what our audience and customers need and want.”
