Round 1: Tonga 30-26 Samoa on July 1st at Teufaiva Sport Stadium, Nuku'alofa

It marked Tonga’s first home game since they played Fiji in 2009 as well as Tonga's first win over Samoa since they won 29–19 in 2011.

Round 2: Tonga 10-14 Fiji on July 8th at Teufaiva Sport Stadium, Nuku'alofa

Samoa will host Fiji next weekend at Apia Park and, as the qualifying process is based on results of the Pacific Nations Cup tournaments from 2016 and 2017, will need a win or a draw in order to take the second Oceania qualifying spot as they sit on 5 points while Tonga has 6.

The third team will face off against a European team in a repechage for a place in Japan.
