Pasifika Film fest heading to NZ

For the first time ever the Pasifika Film Fest will be coming to New Zealand in February 2017, bringing a wonderful selection of unique films from across Oceania.

The Pasifika Film Fest started in 2013 as a way to screen stories from across the Pacific to audiences in Sydney Australia.

The aim of the festival is “to encourage Sydney’s Pacific community to connect with their cultural heritage through visual arts and storytelling, while also sharing the culture with the wider community”.

The festival features some great talent from around the Pacific including feature and short films made about and by our very own Kiwi filmmakers.

From feature films such as Poi E: The Story of Our Song, Belief: The Possession of Janet Moses to short films like Smiths Ave, Forgotten Dawn Children, The Promise of Piha and Falevai Flava.

Festival dates:

Auckland: WEDNESDAY 15th - SUNDAY 19th FEBRUARY 2017

Wellington: THURSDAY 23rd - SUNDAY 26th FEBRUARY 2017.

While ticket and venue info is yet to be announced shortly, like the Pasifika Film Fest on facebook, follow them on twitter or subscribe to their newsletter to get up to date information about the festival.
